  • Iamonia Farms is located in Leon County, Florida- just outside of the Tallahassee city limits. The farm spans over 500 acres of rolling hills, lush forests, and cypress swamps, just off of the shore of Lake Iamonia on scenic North Meridian Road.

The property is a Florida-certified Stewardship Forest. The Florida Land Steward Program is an extension program of the UF/IFAS School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatics Sciences. The program allows private landowners to manage their lands for long-term environmental and community benefits

Our family farm and event venue are open to the public by appointment only. We host small events and ticketed intimate gatherings throughout the year. To learn about upcoming events on the farm, please subscribe to our newsletter and follow our blog or Instagram!

  • On most days of the year, Iamonia Farms is a private homestead, and is closed to the public.

Our long-term hope and mission is to share nature’s beauty, abundance, and spiritual energy with others in ways that protects and honors this natural resource and the flora and fauna that inhabit it.

  • Since the first generation of our family stepped foot Iamonia Farms in the 1970’s, a spiritual, heart connection was made with this unique natural resource. The land, lake, and swamps are home to countless creatures. We see ourselves as stewards of the land and protectors of the plants and animals that live here.

Nature provides us with enrichment, peace, inspiration, and a constant reminder of graceful change and regeneration. It nourishes us with its beauty and with the sustenance that grows from it!

And we look forward to finding ways to share this natural haven and it’s energy with others!

a WILDLIFE HAVEN

Iamonia Farms is a haven for species native to the Red Hills region of North Florida and South Georgia. On the property, we have deer, alligators, coyotes, fox squirrels, snakes, and occasional large cats! We strive to share the land with these beautiful species, and encourage all visitors to also drive slow and respect the wildlife.

A BIRDWATCHER’S PARADISE

Iamonia Farms is home to over 65 species of native birds. Every year, the Audubon Society comes to assess and count the various bird populations that inhabit the property. We are pleased that the December 2022 bird count was our highest on record in 17 years, with a total of 939 birds.

We are pleased to be home to many species including Great Blue Herons, Wild Turkeys, Great Horned Owls, Quail, and even two bald eagles who nest close to the shore of Lake Iamonia.

The hard work from the counting team over the years has allowed other organizations and scientists to analyze local bird populations.

AN APIARY

Honey bees are critical to North Florida Agriculture, and they help pollinate many of the fruits, crops, herbs, and produce that we like to grow here on Iamonia Farms. To help encourage the maintenance of our apiary, we have many flowering and nectar-producing trees and plants on the property, and we strive to protect our colonies from pesticides, pathogens, and parasites.

Iamonia Farms honey is released in small batches and is also donated to local pantries and shelters.

A family farm

We believe that the most nourishing foods are colorful and come from nature. Western culture is overrun with fast, processed meals. We believe in slowing down whenever possible, and filling our bodies with wholesome meals with few, quality ingredients. While you’ll still find us at Publix or Trader Joes from time to time, our family delights in gardening many of our own crops and foraging wild ingredients like blueberries, citrus fruits, pears, figs, chanterelles, and lions mane mushrooms from the property.

Follow our blog to see what’s growing and cooking on Iamonia Farms!! And stay tuned for intimate, seasonal dining events on the property and giveaways of seasonal harvests.
